Why should I consider a career in real estate?

Real estate provides an opportunity to run your own business with a minimum amount of up front expenses. Although it’s not for everyone, most people like the idea of not having a limit placed on the amount of income they can earn. The idea of flexible work hours can also be a huge incentive. Realtors also have the luxury of actually having a career that they like, not just a job to earn income.

How do I get business?

Your objective in this business is to assist people through the process of buying or selling homes. The way you accomplish this is by utilizing various prospecting systems that develop potential leads. Your business can come from people you already know or from complete strangers. You will be trained in all aspects of prospecting and sales and will be able to create a career that will be long lasting.

What kind of person does well in real estate?

Almost anyone can do well in real estate. It really isn’t a matter of education or superior salesmanship. Although these things help, it’s more about being committed to your own success and willingness to work hard. At Champion Realty, we’ve had people from all walks of life become tremendous successes. Champion provides a personality profile to see what your real estate future could hold.

Sounds good, how do I get started?

The first step is to meet with one of our representatives or managers and sign up for the pre-licensing class in the Principles and Practices of Real Estate. This is a 60-hour class that provides the tools to pass the required state-licensing exam. Prior to taking the exam, you must successfully pass our course and complete the required hours.

What does it really cost to get started?

We estimate the start-up expenses to be approximately $1500. Some of these expenses include membership in the Local, State and National Association of Realtors, Licensing fees, Multiple Listing fees, Errors and Omissions Insurance, etc. Your broker will elaborate on what fees are due and when.

Are there recurring costs?

Like running any business there are associated costs and real estate is no exception. Every year you will have similar recurring fees as those above. In addition, there will be other self-promotion expenses that you could incur.

What type of training do I need and what does Champion Realty offer?

In addition to the Pre-Licensing Course, a successful Realtor will always keep training issues in mind. At Champion Realty we place you in our two-week Sales Mastery Class, which provides all of the basics in starting your career. We then provide a Six-Month Mentorship Program to assist you in your presentations, contracts, etc. without cost to the agent. We also offer a multi-session Fast Track class taught by Chris Coile. These classes have jump-started many new agents.

In addition, there are always Monthly Continuing Education Classes, Computer Training and 52 Weekly Training Sessions provided at both company and office levels.

Our training and coaching doesn’t stop. We also provide you with a Personalized Business Plan, outlining your goals, and a Personal Marketing Plan as the blueprint for achieving that goal.

How much money can I really make?

This really depends on you. Realtors are paid strictly on a commission basis, which depending on your point of view can be bad or good. If the idea of being paid what your worth appeals to you, then real estate is your choice. Although it’s conceivable to make a six-figure income your first year, you will probably have to grow to that level. Most hard-working agents can meet or exceed their required income needs their first year.

How long will it take to get paid?

With our structured business and marketing plans, you should be able to start making money within two months. Individual income issues should always be discussed with your Champion manager.
